Military Turns Drill
This helps keep your posture when rotating.
- Stand tall with your feet together and your arms in frame.
- Step forward with your right foot.
- Pivot ¼ turn to the left, while keeping your frame and shoulders aligned with your hips.
- Bring your feet together and start again.
Note: It is common in the beginning to not keep your elbows in front of your body or let your shoulders lag slightly behind your hips. This dance drill will help you be aware if you are doing that and help correct it.
