The dance classes are taught by 15 year veteran dancer and teacher Dancin’ David and his wife Dancin’ Dawn. DANCIN’ TIME is a Saratoga business dedicated to making life more fun and vibrant through the art and social aspects of partner dancing.

“Social partner dancing has many benefits to the individual and the community. People learn to connect with themselves and each other in a holistic and creative way while having fun and improving their physical health,” says Dawn Dawson, co-owner of DANCIN’ TIME.

“The classes at Universal Preservation Hall are a result of a large demand for fun, affordable evening with your spouse or partner, and a great place to meet new people. These classes were partly inspired when the Max Weinberg band played at UPH last fall,” Dawn added.

We had a fun west coast swing class in November of 2010 at the Ukranian Hall in Cohoes, NY. In the video below we review some simple variations on basic patterns in West Coast Swing. Two footwork variations and some styling for both the leader and follower. The goal was to really connect with your partner and the music. Thank you to Sue for helping me film the video. Enjoy!

Every other Tuesday Bob Englert and Dancin’ David host a West Coast Swing Lessons and a Dance at the Ukranian Hall on Pulaski St. in Cohoes, NY.

When: 7 pm Intermediate Lesson by Dancin’ David, Beginner Lesson by Bob Englert.

8-10:30 Open Dancing for West Coast Swing, Hustle, Cha Cha and more.

Cost: $10 for the lesson, $10 for the dance or $15 for both.

Noteworthy: This is a great dance floor with awesome people and low prices at the bar.

Workshop – Argentine Tango Given by
Christopher Kilkenny & Liesl Bailey

Argentine Tango Choreography Workshop
Incorporating Essential Elements of Tango for Social Dance

Liesl and Christopher will teach an Argentine tango choreography workshop. The choreography will consist of a fun sequence of various leadable Argentine tango figures that will provide an overview of the essential elements of tango for beginners and an expanded repertoire for intermediate tango dancers. Separate sections will be taught each week, so the class can be attended for the full four weeks or in part. Instruction will include ways to incorporate the moves from the choreographed sequence into social dancing.
